Support after SEQ floods and other important dates

We are glad to be back on deck today after a difficult and heartbreaking week in our region.

Our hearts are with all students, their families, staff and those in our broader community who have been tragically affected by the Gympie floods. For many of our staff and students, the clean-up and recovery effort will be ongoing for some time.
The Gympie community is a resilient one; this is deeply reflected in our students and their families every day.
If students are looking for a quiet place to sit during lunch breaks over the coming days, E block will be accessible and supervised by a Support Staff team member during Lunch 1 and 2.
If a student wishes to speak to a member of our Support Team (such as the Guidance Officer, Youth Support Worker or Chaplain) please let a teacher know to arrange an appointment, or alternatively drop into Student Services in E Block.
If your family is experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the floods (or otherwise) which may impact your students’ schooling, please contact us on principal@jamesnashshs.eq.edu.au.
If your student will be absent from school as a result of flooding, please let our Student Services team know.
Other important reminders for the weeks ahead:

Senior Jerseys

The next order for the 2022 Senior Jersey has been extended until the 4th March, 2022.

The cost of the jersey is $80.50. 

Jerseys from this order will be at the school in the middle of term 2.

Students wanting to purchase a jersey need to inform the Senior Jersey Co-ordinator, Mr Jenkins, of their size (sizing jerseys provided) and the name to be printed on the back of the jersey (Christian or surname only) in advance of the order being placed.

Students with outstanding payments to the school will not be allowed to purchase a senior jersey until all other payments are finalised.

No further orders will be placed for senior jerseys in 2022.

Any queries regarding the senior jerseys should be directed to Mr Jenkins (54806353).​


Key dates:

Due to the flood event we have made a number of changes to the upcoming calendar of events. Key changes include:
1. The postponing of Yr 7 vaccinations scheduled for Wed 2 March until Wed 9 March.
2. The postponing of cluster sport trials scheduled for Wed 2 March until Wed 9 March.
3. The postponing of school photos to a date to be advised.​
