BYOd learning at James Nash
All students attending James Nash in 2023 need to bring a device for learning.
What for?
James Nash teachers will use a range of teaching techniques to best teach their subject to their students. These will include traditional strategies like handwriting on paper as well as using the device's software and tools. Faculty HODs have listed what the device will be used for in their subjects, and how much students can expect it to be used. Students bringing their device to every lesson is critical to successful learning in all year levels for all subjects.
What type?
The device can be a laptop or an iPad and we strongly recommend that all devices are carried inside a hard, protective case. So that the device connects easily to the school network, school internet and printers, we recommend these device specifications. Other devices may connect to the network but may have limited functionality, creating a negative impact on learning.
***Important to note before buying the device***
2.4ghz wireless is no longer available. 5ghz is now used across the school. This may affect some older-style laptops.
