The James Nash State High School Resource Centre provides an extensive range of services and resources to the students and staff of the school. Our core business is the provision of relevant, accurate and current resources that support the curriculum in a safe, controlled environment that welcomes diversity. Promoting and supporting genuine student interest in reading for pleasure is also a priority. All students have the ability to borrow from the extensive collection of non-fiction, fiction, audio-visual and electronic resources available.
The number and type of resources that students can borrow through the library is determined by their year level. Junior Secondary students can borrow up to 5 resources while Senior students can borrow 7. Senior fiction is not available to Junior Secondary students unless written parental permission is supplied. Students are held responsible for the return of any school resources they borrow.
The Resource Centre facilitates student access to electronic resources through a variety of means. Internet connected computers are available for student use during class and at all breaks. A wide range of other e-resources is available. The Resource Centre has an online presence through our ‘eBook Lending Facility’, a link to which is provided under Related links. This facility is available to all staff and students that create an account by following the steps provided on the site and can be accessed 24/7.
The Resource Centre is open from 8am on Tuesday and Friday and 8.30am on all other school days.
