Follow these simple steps to enrol your child at James Nash SHS:
Step 1: Get the Enrolment Application
Download the application form (click on the image on the right) or pick up a copy from our Administration Office.
Step 2: Submit the Completed Form
Return the completed application along with all required documents. Our Enrolment Officer will review the paperwork and confirm your child lives within our catchment area as part of our Enrolment Management Plan.
Step 3: Attend an Enrolment Meeting
We’ll arrange a meeting with you and your child to finalise enrolment and discuss their transition to James Nash SHS.
Step 4: Confirm Start Date
A start date will be set—students can begin on either a Monday or Thursday.
Step 5: First Day Induction
On their first day, students will take part in a short induction session starting at 9:05am during Period 1. This session helps new students get familiar with the school, meet key staff, and feel confident about their first day at James Nash SHS. It’s a great way to start strong and settle in quickly.

2027 Academy of Creative Arts trials Friday 26th June 2026
Full day at JNSHS 26th June 2026.
Enrolments Close at 4pm Friday 26th June 2026
2027 Scholarship Applications Open Monday 27th July 2026
Letters of Acceptance into ACA or G4G program sent Term 3 Week 5
Letters sent to Parents.
Enrolment interviews will be held throughout Term 3 and Term 4.
You will be contacted by the Enrolment Officer in Term 3 with instructions on how to book your interview.
2027 Scholarship Applications Close 3rd September 2026
Scholarship winners will be announced on Primary School Parades in Term 4
Short Orientation Sessions for identified students Term 4 Weeks 3, 5 & 7
For students requiring additional support with the transition process. Sessions run between 9:30am and 11am.
Year 6 into Year 7 Orientation Day Monday 30th November 2026
Only students who have attended an enrolment interview will be eligible to attend.
If you reside within the school’s Catchment Area, your enrolment will be automatically accepted.
Here's how to enrol for Year 7 in 2027:
Step 1: Get the Enrolment Application
Download the application form (click on the image on the right), collect one from our Administration Office, or check with your child’s primary school. If your child currently attends one of our feeder schools, enrolment application packs will be available directly through the school.
Step 2: Submit the Completed Form
Return the completed application along with all required documents. Our Enrolment Officer will confirm your child’s eligibility under our Enrolment Management Plan.
Step 3: Attend an Enrolment Meeting
We’ll arrange a meeting with you and your child to discuss their enrolment and help prepare for the move to high school.
Step 4: Attend Year 7 Transition Day (Term 4)
All students who have attended an enrolment interview will be invited to our Year 7 Transition Day in Term 4. This special event gives students a chance to explore the school, meet teachers and classmates, and get comfortable with high school life before the year begins.
Step 5: Start with Us on the First Day of School in 2027
Your child will officially begin their high school journey on the first day of the 2027 school year—ready, supported, and excited to learn!
Out of Catchment Enrolments
James Nash State High School operates under an Enrolment Management Plan to ensure we can provide quality education to students living within our local catchment area. However, we do consider applications from families who live outside our catchment, depending on availability.
How to Apply:
Step 1: Complete an Enrolment Application
Download the application form (link on the right) or collect one from our Administration Office.
Step 2: Submit the Application with Required Documents
Include all supporting documentation. Out of catchment applications will be reviewed by the Principal in line with current enrolment capacity and departmental guidelines.
Step 3: Wait for Notification
Our Enrolment Officer will contact you once your application has been reviewed to advise whether a place can be offered.
