Important: NAPLAN 2021 information

NAPLAN is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It tests the types of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life. The tests cover skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy.

NAPLAN tests give you information on how your child is progressing against national standards. This information can be used to identify areas in which your child may benefit from additional assistance. NAPLAN does not replace, but rather complements assessments run by your child's classroom teacher throughout the year.

The assessments are undertaken every year in the second full week in May. Due to the Gympie Show holiday being held on Friday 14th May, the catch-up testing day will be rescheduled for Monday 17th May, 2021.  Therefore, the testing dates will be as follows:

All students have been registered to undertake each of the NAPLAN assessments. Parents or carers may withdraw their child from the tests to address issues such as religious beliefs and philosophical objections to testing. If you are considering withdrawing your child from these assessments, please contact Deputy Principal, Ms Shelley Gauld no later than 5th May, 2021.

NAPLAN will be administered during the normal school day and as such all students (regardless of participation) are expected to attend school as per normal
