James Nash State High School is located in the Wide Bay Region of Queensland and is serviced by Education Queensland's North Coast region. Set on the northern outskirts of Gympie, James Nash High was founded in 1977 and has a current enrolment of 1100 students.
Our school is committed to:
- Empowering learners through student agency in the learning process
- Providing diverse opportunities for students to engage in schooling
- Ensuring our staff are experts in teaching and learning and
- Providing meaningful pathways to work, training and further education.
Our school has high expectations of our students, and we offer a multi tiered system of support to assist students to overcome academic, social emotional and other barriers to learning as they transition into, through and out of high school.
We measure our success when our students move beyond school into work and/or further study and pride ourselves on consistently outperforming both the state and region in these metrics. In doing so we live up to our vision of “empowered learners leading a life of choice”.
