GTTC

 

The Gympie Trade Training Centre located at the Gympie TAFE opened in Semester 2, 2014.  The Partnership of Schools behind the GTTC successfully received $5.25 million in funding from the Commonwealth Government’s Trade Training Centres in Schools Program.

The GTTC is based on a partnership between James Nash SHS (lead school), Gympie SHS, Saints Patrick’s College, Cooloola Christian College, Mary Valley State College, Tin Can Bay P-10 and Victory College The centre​ offers trade certificate courses to senior students from each of these schools.

 
  
 

Courses

 

The T4F course is aimed at high performing students who are interested in a career in the trade areas of Construction and Engineering. Applicants will need to have a high recommendation from their INTAD teacher and achieve a B or greater grade in their INTAD subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English. 

Selected students will spend 4 days a week at the Trade Training Centre on the T4F curriculum and one day a week participating in life skills and recreation courses at James Nash SHS or the Gympie Trade Training Centre for semester 1 year 10.The remainder of the course students are expected to undertake work placement one day per week. 

This course is to be conducted over years 10, 11 and 12.
